Buildings at 1-11 Mallory Street (odd numbers) and 6-12 Burrows Street (even numbers), which is a revitalization project of the Urban Renewal Authority in collaboration with the Hong Kong Art Centre. Built in the 1910s, the tenement buildings have a combined Chinese and Western architectural style. All of them have four storeys and are built with cantilevered balconies supported by brackets and posts on the upper floors. Floors, ceilings, staircases, are all made of China fir. Some of the buildings have pitched Chinese tiled roofs, French doors and the distinctive feature of ornamental iron balcony balustrades. After revitalization, a sky walkway is built on the 3/F and 4/F, giving the cluster of buildings a distinctive modern architectural flavour. It offers exhibition spaces and multi-function rooms for different activities and events. The tenement buildings are Grade II historic buildings.
