Characteristics:
Statue Square Gardens is separated by Chater Road in the middle. The garden was built in the 19th century. Its name was derived from the bronze statue of Queen Victoria erected there together with statues of 2 other royalty and that of Sir Thomas Jackson, the chief manager of Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank Corporation between 1876 and 1902. At present only Sir Thomas' statue remains there, facing the Legislative Council Building at the eastern side of the garden. On the other side of the garden are a large square fountain and the Cenotaph.
