Pat Sin Leng Country Park is in the northeastern part of the New Territories, next to Plover Cove Country Park. It takes up an area of 3,125 hectares. The vegetation is mainly grassland and shrubland. Pat Sin Leng (Eight Fairies Range) got its name from the fact that there are 8 ranges running from west to east for about 5 km. Part of Pat Sin Range is rugged and steep. The highest peak exceeds 550 m from the sea. From the range, one can see dramatic terrain of the mountains and overlook Sha Lo Tung in the valley, an abandoned farming village, which is an ecologically diversified area. The scenic Hok Tau and Lau Shui Heung reservoirs are delightful. The main stream of Bride's Pool, Hong Kong's main natural catchment, runs through Plover Cove Country Park and its tributaries flowing over Pat Sin slopes. And the water ultimately enters Plover Cove Reservoir.
