Hong Kong Museum of History occupies an area of 17,500 sq m, with 8,000 sq m for exhibition purpose. The piazza along Chatham Road South provides greenery for the venue and is characterised by 5 flag poles and 3-colour tile flooring. The museum is linked to the Science Museum by a raised piazza. The 2 museum structures echo each other inside and outside but are not without differences in character. The Science Museum is more rectangular in shape but the Museum of History is built with stepped aluminium vaulted roofs and curved walls. The 2 structures form a huge museum complex with a harmonious appearance and colour scheme in Tsim Sha Tsui East.
