Characteristics:
Che Kung Temple (Sha Tin) was originally built in honour of "Che Kung" (General Che), who lived during the Sung Dynasty (960 - 1279 AD) and suppressed a rebellion in South China. The original temple was built about 300 years ago. The new one, built in front of the old one, was completed in 1993. It is more spacious inside, with a towering statue of Che Kung at the centre. Outside the temple building is a square where worshippers can alight joss sticks or turn the "Wheel of Fortune" for good luck.
