Western Monastery is located in a quiet corner in Lo Wai Village, Tsuen Wan, next to Yuen Yuen Institute. Immediately inside the entrance of the monastery is an elegant and graceful statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva. The main building is 2-storey, modelled on the architecture of the classical Chinese palaces. The upper floor is Great Buddha's Hall where the Buddhist Trinity is enshrined. There is also a cloisonne statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva of the Ming Dynasty. Downstairs is the Hall of Maitreya, the altar for the compassionate Maitreya.

At the back of the main building is another 2-storey Hall of Kshitigabha. On both sides are halls for ancestors. A lectorium, a school for Buddhist studies, a library, a canteen for vegetarian dishes and a dormitory were built at a later stage. In 1999, the Ten Thousand Buddha Pagoda was built. The 9-storey pagoda is the altar for various statues of Buddha. At the centre is an exhibition hall for Buddhist relics and art pieces. Behind the pagoda is a home for the aged.
