Characteristics:
The night market of Temple Street is the most famous market in the area that unfolds at night. It is alive with activities from around 6pm to 11pm. Like "Ladies' Street", all sorts of bargain buys can be found in stalls along the road including inexpensive clothes (particularly for men), household food, watches, CDs, cassette tapes and jewellery.

In some of the surrounding streets, there are impromptu performances of Cantonese opera, while fortune tellers also set up stalls to earn their living. To attract passers-by, they employ pet birds to pick up cards which can tell the fortune or raise poster-sized pictures in red colour which illustrate palm reading.

Halfway up Temple Street, stalls laden with an amazing array of shellfish are eyecatching. Street eating is another remarkable characteristic of the area. A couple of plates of sea snails, prawns, mussels or clams, with a beer or two are irresistable.

The section between Jordan Road and Kansu Street is a part-time pedestrian precinct during 2pm - 12 midnight daily.
